Cocktailers and music aficionados,
The first Booze & Vinyl book launched just in time for Record Store Day 2018. I traveled across the U.S. for the book tour — from New York to Nashville — in a mobile listening van, visiting stores and bars along the way. There was a lot of excitement in the air regarding the return of analogue. Since that time, vinyl has only continued to explode.
In 2022, vinyl sales surpassed CDs for the first time since 1987. The medium’s rise has been meteoric. At one time, bins of records sold for mere dollars. Now, a new album can cost over $30. The surge in interest has made it difficult for the industry to keep up. Read an excellent article about the resulting problems here.
All this is to say, the Booze & Vinyl books are about connecting listeners to complete albums through a source that does not place convenience over quality. Everyone agrees: vinyl is great (it also pays artists).
However, there is no purpose in preventing the enjoyment of the books simply because readers don’t have the wax. To that end, below are Spotify playlists containing the albums found in the Booze & Vinyl series.
The playlists are also available through my Spotify profile here.
Happy holiday listening,
André
Wowza! This is amazing! Thank you!
